- Everyone is on the trails to enjoy the outdoors so please be
considerate of other trail users.
- Bring plenty of water, especially during the summer months.
- Always tell someone where you are going and when you are expected to
return.
- All downhill traffic should yield to uphill traffic, no matter what
type of user.
- It is recommended that the hiker stay to the right as often as
possible.
- When passing, announce your intentions.
- Bicyclists yield to all other trail users.
- Hikers yield to equestrians.
- Control your speed at all times.

General Trail Guidelines |

- Trails are open from sunrise to sunset.
- Stay on the signed and designated trails.
- Avoid wet or muddy trails.
- Avoid taking shortcuts, cutting switchbacks, or creating new trails.
- Keep pets on leash at all times and clean up after them.
- Do not discard trash on the trails. If you carry it in, carry
it out.
- Never get off a trail on the down hill side. If you should
slip, you would move farther away from rescue.

Phoenix Mountains Park and Recreation Area
Requirements |

- No dogs are allowed on the Squaw Peak Summit Trail.
- No Bikes or Horses are allowed on the Squaw Peak Summit Trail.
- No glass containers of any kind are allowed in the park.
- No alcohol is allowed in the park without prior permission.
- The speed limit within the park is 15 MPH.
- Park only in designated areas.
- When parking lot is full, wait in line for your turn to park, or
park elsewhere.
- No firearms allowed by other than CCW holders (with permit in their
possession)
